No matter how ambitious it would be, no government program has the right to be against the essential requirements of stability and predictability that the economy needs.

For example, despite the 5.7% record economic growth registered in the first quarter and the considerable expansion

of consumption, the budget execution in the first half of 2017 is seriously lagging behind in terms of revenue collection - which is nearly RON 6 billion under the programmed level, a fact that attracted the increase of the budget deficit by approx. RON 4.4 billion only in June.

I think that business people are fully justified to worry about the implications some recently announced measures can have for the economy. As I said at the moment of the Government's inauguration, the change of the government program, especially in its essential aspects, both fiscal and social, does not offer at all the signal of confidence and peace that the Romanians and the investment environment expects.
